Bug Type

Pokemon that belong to the Bug type often grow quickly, and evolve much sooner than the other types. As a result of this rapid growth, bug type Pokemon are generally quite weak. In earlier generation Pokemon games, like Generation I, bugs were almost useless as the limited moves utilised by bug Pokemon were very weak. As different Pokemon generations elapsed, there was an increase with better available moves, as well as an advantage against the Dark type.

Bug type Pokemon are ranked last, out of all the other types, in HP (Health Points) and special attack. They also rank very low in attack and special defence, 15^th and 17^th respectively.

Four notable trainers are:

·      Bugsy – Azalea Town gym leader

·      Aaron – Elite Four

·      Burgh – Castelia City gym leader

·      Viola – Santalune City gym leader.
