Pokemon Red and Blue

Pokemon Red and Blue was released in 1996 in Japan, followed by 1998 in America and Australia. Originally, the roots of this game were a development on the previously released pokemon yellow, and was an adaption made on Nintendo for GameBoy devices. The game is played in a third person perspective taking on the role of the protagonist, Professor Oak's grandson, and begins travelling throughout the world of pokemon in order to exclusively "catch em all!" This phrase is a universally known saying, in which encourages the player to spend countless hours within the game, levelling up pokemon, exploring the depths of the Nintendo franchise, and most importantly.. catching each and every one of the pokemon. Now that may seem a bit far fetched, but it is a quite an achievement. While the player seldom catches every single pokemon, however most of the fun and enjoyment within the game is found in deciding not to unnecessarily catch mid-to average pokemon, and focuses on levelling up their favourite pokemon types/characters that this game has to offer. Overall, the game received high ratings from critics and was loved by everyone.
