Fighting type pokemon (Japanese: かくとうタイプ = Fighting type) are the strong and muscle-bound pokemon that is mostly based on martial artists such as Jackie Chan. They are one of the 18 types of pokemon, but what makes them unique is that their fighting moves are super-effective against; normal, ice, rock, dark and steel type pokemon. However, due to their circumstances, most of these fighting pokemon moves are in the physical category. These are the notable trainers who specialise in fighting-type Pokemon:
- Bruno of the Indigo Plateau Elite Four
- Chuck of Cianwood City
- Brawly of Dewford Town
- Maylene of Veilstone City
- Marshal of the Unova Elite Four
- Korrina of Shalour City
- Hala of the Alola Elite Four
A notable fighting type pokemon: Lucario
In Generation IV, there have been all damaging Fighting type pokemon moves were just physical, but due to its prior changes they can now also be special moves depending on the attack.
