Unlike the other pokemon games, the game starts with a video call by the Professor to the player. Meanwhile, the game shows a young girl escaping from a lab with an unidentified pokemon which looks really rare in her bag. As she is about to be caught by workers there, the pokemon teleports itself and the girl to an unknown place. The real game then starts 3 months after that incident in which the player and that unidentified pokemon have a big role in the game play.
From first hand memory of playing this game, it was similar but with many new features as compared with the old pokemon games which were only on the classic game boy. This game has much more pokemon within including new and old ones so the player has more options of building a strong team. I feel the game is also a bit easier compared to the old ones as there is always someone telling you where to go, so players won't get lost. I also found this game much easier than the previous ones, including catching legendary Pokemon, finding certain pokemon and defeating gym leaders. I completed this game in about two weeks compared to the old ones which took me about a few months. This game also allows certain pokemon to evolve within the game instead of having to do trades like in the game boy days which proved to be quite a hassle. Overall I rate this game a solid 8/10.
